Our History

A New York workshop through the years.

1937

Economy Foam is established in New York, with its original shop at East Houston and Allen Streets.

2003

The shop relocates to the West Village, continuing its New York story.

2018

On May 1, Economy Foam moves to Chelsea. The business’s history also records its acquisition by Greentex Upholstery Supplies.

I had 4 chairs custom covered a year ago. Exceptional workmanship. They run a top notch business. It’s not all pretty and fancy in the warehouse but the business, craftsmanship, professionalism is 5 star. Have gone there for years. Lovely guy that runs it.  Verified My need  was simple.I wanted a new foam insert for the zippered cushion of my easy chair. I brought the cushion to this no-frills store. The staff member had me try two foam firmness levels, and I chose the firmer one. I left the cushion and it was ready two days later. I am very satisfied.

 Verified All the reviewers here are so rude! I have had work done by Economy Foam twice, and I couldn't be happier with the results. If you arrive at a busy time you do have to have a little patience, but don't be so arrogant! They do excellent work and their prices are reasonable. Yay Economy Foam. I'll be back!

 Verified Updated: overall I'm still happy with the cushions. They e sagged a wee bit but I don't think that's unusual. I think it's a good fix that will last for a couple of years and then I'll have to bite the bullet and get a new couch. So still worth it, but not a miracle solution by any means I just picked up my couch foam inserts for my cushions. They are fabulous! It's like a new couch. I'll update later to let you know if they are still fabulous...but seriously they made it so easy and they feel great. Brought in my covers and they put them right in for me. Highly recommend.
